Meghalaya State Bamboo Mission
The Meghalaya State Bamboo Mission is a state initiative aimed at promoting bamboo cultivation and its associated industries to enhance economic development and environmental sustainability. Aligned with the objectives of the National Bamboo Mission, this program focuses on increasing bamboo plantation areas, supporting local artisans, and fostering bamboo-based enterprises. Between 2018 and 2024, the mission successfully brought approximately 383 hectares of land under bamboo cultivation in Meghalaya.

National Bamboo Mission
Restructured National Bamboo Mission approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 25-04-2018. The Mission envisages promoting holistic growth of bamboo sector by adopting area-based,regionally differentiated strategy and to increase the area under bamboo cultivation and marketing.
